As of the 1st January 2008 it will be illegal for cookers not fitted with a Flame Supervision Device to every burner, to be installed in a flat or multiple occupancy dwelling.
Corgi have stated that this is for all types of flat, including the types that use an external staircase for accessing the upstairs.
Should a tenant attempt to install an unsuitable cooker themselves, our gas contractor, PH Jones, will have no alternative but to disconnect and isolate the cooker.
An information sheet for new tenants prior to them accepting and subsequently moving in to such properties is attached.
