Nuisance Behaviour Guidance
Anti-social behaviour is detrimental to people and neighbourhoods. It can lead to the decline of areas & damage whole communities. Just the fear of anti-social behaviour and crime can affect people’s health.
As a tenant you are responsible for the behaviour of every person living in or visiting your home. YOU are responsible for them in your home and surrounding land, in communal areas and in the locality around your home.
If you have problems with noise or someone is causing a nuisance, you should in the first instance, try to raise the issue with the person who is causing the problem. It may be that they do not realise how their behaviour is causing a nuisance and a compromise can be reached without the need to involve others.
Trent & Dove believe that all residents have the right to live safely in their home. We will not tolerate any form of harassment, racial or otherwise against any person(s). Any such behaviour will be considered as a breach of the tenancy agreement and Trent & Dove will take the necessary legal action. If proved, will put at risk the continued tenancy of the property by those persons involved.
You should report all problems to Trent & Dove Housing for advice & action. We will investigate any complaints and act promptly to ensure all necessary support is provided for the victim and deter the perpetrators.
If the harassment involves violence, threats of violence, damage to property or other criminal act, you should contact the Police.
Further information is available in our leaflet “Deal with Anti-social behaviour or Nuisance” which is available at any Trent & Dove office.
We also have a guide to the support available if you find yourself a victim or witness to anti-social behaviour. Click here to view or download the leaflet, Victim and Witness Support.
