Equality and Diversity Policy and Statement of Intent

It is a Housing Corporation Regulatory requirement that all Registered Social Landlords (RSLs), have in place a Black and Minority Ethnic/ Diversity action plan under its criteria for "Properly Governed".

Trent & Dove Housing has strategic aims and objectives to fulfil its obligations to eliminate discrimination of all types within the organisation. These are summarised as follows;

• To ensure positive commitment to the promotion of equality and diversity at all levels within the company.
• To provide services that are accessible to all irrespective of racial, ethnic, religious or cultural background.
• To provide services that are relevant and accessible to all irrespective of ability or gender.
• To have a workforce representative of the general population within which we operate, who feel valued and are enabled and encouraged to realise their full potential.
• To have a diverse and representative Board that reflects communities it serves.
• To require contractors, consultants, suppliers and partners working with the company to share its commitment to equality and diversity.
• To foster good relations with and between BME communities.
• To undertake positive action to address existing dis-advantage.
• To ensure that the Board and staff recognise and understand the business case for equality and diversity.
