We will always look for opportunities to develop new properties for residents of East Staffordshire and South Derbyshire.
We have completed a new extra-care facility on the site of what was previously our Anglesey Court Sheltered scheme. Demolition works started in December 2009 and completion was in January 2012. Burton now has an iconic, state of the art modern living facility for older people.
With our partners, we will continue to look for more development opportunities to enable us to create affordable new homes to meet local housing needs.
What we have achieved so far -
Our initial development programme primarily dealt with the major refurbishment work necessary on our non-traditionally built properties to meet the promises we made at transfer.
The first phase in this particular programme was completed during the latter part of 2003 at Horninglow where 'Cussins' type houses were completely renovated using energy efficient materials and quality fittings to make them the homes that people want to live in. In the same area, our "Dyke" type properties have been demolished to make way for modern energy efficient homes. The work in Horninglow was finally completed during 2007 where similar properties were replaced in this way.
Across the town in Waterside, work has been completed in demolishing the "Dyke" type properties there too. Once again they have been replaced with modern, fuel efficient homes.
Extension to our much admired, sheltered housing scheme in Highwood Court, Uttoxeter was completed in the autumn of 2006, the scheme has been upgraded to provide "extra-care".
Also in Uttoxeter, the regeneration of the St. John's Square area has been completed. The site has been re-modelled to provide much needed, modern, affordable housing for the people of Uttoxeter. Phase 1 of the development,re-named "The Willows" , was handed over by the contractors in December 2007 and Margaret Allen of the Housing Corporation was guest of honour at the ribbon cutting ceremony. In 2008 the development received acclaim by winning the category 'transformation of the environment' at the Southern Staffordshire Regeneration Awards.
In Rocester at Riversfield Drive, we have now completed our scheme to remodel the area in a similar scheme to the Willows in Uttoxeter. Concrete, deck access flats having been demolished to make way for modern new homes giving people the choice of rented or shared ownership tenure.
We have also developed shared ownership properties in Derby Road North at the former Black Eagle brewery site (The Maltings) and also in Horninglow at the Barleyfields development.
Work at the old Trading Standards site in Horninglow Street has now been completed. This 'gateway' to Burton town centre, now known as Charrington House, has modern apartments with an exterior that has been designed to reflect Burton's heritage and has been commended by the local Heritage Society.

Other recent developments include building new energy efficient bungalows in Horninglow and Tutbury. These make use of the latest solar technologies and thermal insulation to produce highly, energy efficient homes, resulting in lower heating costs for their residents. We have also improved some of our run-down garage sites by demolishing the garages and building modern, new homes. In Winshill, an old school site has been redeveloped with modern affordable homes and Trent & Dove has recently bought a site at Dallow Bridge which will be used for new affordable housing.

Construction work will begin immediately after the site has been cleared.

People from Rocester have celebrated the completion of a major housing re-development which provides modern, affordable family homes in the village.Phase I on the scheme was completed in June 2008 and Loughborough-based contractor and developer William Davis Ltd has now finished Phase II of the Riversmead scheme at Riversfield Drive, Rocester, Staffordshire.

The demolition by Trent & Dove Housing of 76 decrepit concrete flats at St John’s Square in Uttoxeter has now reached an important milestone, with Phase 1 of the new development being officially opened by Margaret Allen, Field Director (Central), of the Housing Corporation.
Speaking at the ceremony attended by local residents she said, "it is a fantastic achievement by Trent & Dove to have brought the project to life."

A Handover of properties at the end of March marked the completion of a housing improvement project that started in 2002.In partnership with William Davis Limited, a rolling programme of demolition and rebuild along the lines of our scheme in Horninglow has now been completed. This work complements the re-furbishment work on Cussins type properties in the area being carried out by Bullock Construction.
