Improvements

Delivering Our Promises

When the Housing stock was transferred from East Staffordshire Borough Council, in 2001, Trent & Dove Housing made a number of promises to its residents in regard to improving properties during the first five years following transfer.

All planned, major schemes are well advanced and will ensure that Trent & Dove’s properties meet the Government’s ‘Decent Homes’ target by 2010. Our improvements actually exceed the basic requirements of this standard.

If you require any information regarding the improvement programmes and how they might affect you, please contact our Customer Liaison Officer, Alison on (01283) 528528.

Our Promises;

To offer to residents the opportunity to have a variety of improvements to their homes where the items were not already present or were in urgent need of replacement —

However, work to improve our properties is continuing although our planning will now be targetted to specific programmes of works.

Kitchens and Bathrooms

Our kitchen & bathroom programme commenced in October 2006 to run over 4-years. Our aim is to replace all kitchens that would be older than 20-years and all bathrooms that would be older than 30-years by the year 2010. (i.e. installed before 1990 and 1980 respectively). Work started in Uttoxeter and its surrounding areas and has progressed across the borough. A letter outlining the details of the contract will be sent to households when we are due to move into your area, giving you the opportunity to decide whether or not you wish to proceed.

Other programmed works will be introduced as needs dictate.

The timetable below is only a guide and is dependant upon the number of people who take up the offer.

"...just to let you know that both the carpenter and electricians have done a superb job. They've not made much mess and what mess they have made, they've cleaned it up themselves. They were conscientious and polite.....they were absolutely brilliant and would recommend them to anyone...!" (one of many satisfied customers)

All dates are approximate and subject to fluctuation.
