Involvement

Every resident within Trent & Dove Housing has the right to be consulted about the services we offer and any new proposals being considered by the company. Recent changes to our Board structure allows for even greater tenant influence in the governance of Trent & Dove with an equal mix of tenant members and independents.

Residents focus group meeting

We are committed to tenant involvement, your views on our services and changes that affect you and the communities that you live in. We have a dedicated Tenant Participation team who are keen to ensure that our residents continue to be given every opportunity to be involved in our decision making processes.

From the end of February 2006, members of resident groups will have access to a Residents' Resource Centre within Trent & Dove's head office at Trinity Square.

Staffordshire Forum Members

Staff and tenants also meet with representatives from Homezone Housing in Lichfield and Tamworth Borough Council to look at new joint working opportunities involving tenants and good practice. The group, named the Staffordshire Tenants Forum, meet regularly to consider and compare our services.

Staffordshire Forum Members

There are a number of options available for involvement ranging from the new Residents Associations to postal surveys. We recognise that the amount of involvement our residents desire and the amount of time and commitment that people are able to give differ greatly. We have produced a flow chart showing the many alternative ways and levels of getting involved, so that you can have a real say in how Trent & Dove delivers its services to its residents. Please click here to view the chart...

Some alternative ways of becoming involved have been introduced and we would welcome your interest in the following alternatives;

  • Residents Associations

A focal point for all residents of an area to meet and consider what matters in your communities. The groups are supported with funding and advice.

Find out when the next meeting is to be held in your neighbourhood. Click here...

  • Focus Groups

Small forums to look at specific areas of our service delivery.

  • Telephone / Postal / E-mail Surveys

An informal opportunity to tell us what you think.

  • Customer Panel

The chance to take a central role in our decision making processes.

Our leaflet 'Opportunities to become involved' will give you some additional information about how you can become involved or simply pick up the phone and call our Tenant Participation Officer who will be pleased to discuss the options with you. If you are particularly interested in being considered as a tenant board member when future vacancies arise, you may find it useful to speak to our Governance Officer who will be able to guide you. We have recently introduced an innovative development programme for prospective tenant board members.

The following Residents Associations would welcome your support:

  • Burton Town Resident's Association
  • Tutbury Resident's Association
  • Horninglow Resident's Association
  • Winshill Residents Association
  • Uttoxeter Town Resident's Association
  • Uttoxeter Rural Resident's Association
  • Edgehill Resident's Association

Please check our noticeboard for information regarding meeting dates and times.

If you require further general information about Tenant Participation you can visit the Tenant Participation and Advisory Service (TPAS) web site.

Your Local Residents Associations

The 6 new Residents Associations in the Burton and Uttoxeter areas will meet on a quarterly basis giving all residents the opportunity to have an involvement in community and estate issues that effect them.

If you live in any of the areas where positions are vacant and are interested in joining the group, please contact Dawn Maddin on 01283 528652 for an informal discussion. Interest is welcomed from all members of our communities, especially from non tenants, other ethnic groups or people with disabilities. Where possible, we try to make the meetings as family friendly as possible and will try to help with transport arrangements if necessary.

Tenants and non tenants have been elected to the management groups of each association.

For the following 12 months the groups are;
