Trent & Dove provides food donations for the vulnerable over Christmas
A team of staff and caretakers at Trent & Dove Housing has delivered food boxes to residents who have been highlighted as being vulnerable over the Christmas period.
Whilst for most of us, Christmas is a time of year when we think about spending time with our families; eating, drinking and generally being merry. Not everyone is so fortunate though, and Trent & Dove Housing is aware that Christmas can be a time when people feel most vulnerable and alone. With this in mind the company has made up a number of Christmas food boxes, which have been delivered to residents whose names have been nominated and live within our communities.
In addition, Trent & Dove has also remembered Burton’s homeless, who have no shelter in these particularly cold days and nights; nor food to provide a small measure of comfort. Accordingly, a large donation of food, soft drinks and toiletries has been made to the Soup Kitchen on Moseley St, which will be distributed to the homeless over the Christmas period. The food was purchased from Aldi stores in Burton upon Trent who kindly added their own contribution to the provisions bought.
David Jones, director of housing services at Trent & Dove said, “The Soup Kitchen, which is run by the Salvation Army and manned by volunteers, is always busy at this time of year and it is hoped that the donation from Trent & Dove will go some way to brightening up Christmas for those who rely upon its services.”
