Trent & Dove resident selected for the national audit team.

Michael Kelly, a board member of Trent & Dove Housing has been successfully appointed as a Tenant Inspector Advisor (TIA) for the Audit Commission. As a member of the Inspection team he will be responsible for focusing specifically on listening to the views of tenants, leaseholders and customers about the quality of the housing services delivered by the providers.

Michael Kelly is a tenant of Trent & Dove Housing and in his second year as a board member. His personal interest in the issues facing social housing residents and the challenges facing the sector as a whole, initially led him to become more involved. Following successful completion of the Trent & Dove Governance Award accredited by Derby University he has embraced the board role enthusiastically including serving as the champion on the anti social behaviour focus group.

“In my day job as an Interim Manager I have gained extensive experience of working as a member of a team”, says Michael. He added, "I have always been keen to continue learning and I am excited to have this opportunity to develop within an inspectorial role. My priority will be to ensure that the views of service users are effectively communicated and responded to."

John Jackson, Chairman of Trent & Dove Housing says, “Michael has proved to be a real asset to the board of Trent & Dove and we are pleased that his skills will now be used for the benefit of both residents locally and nationally.
