Trent & Dove Smashes New Homes Target
For the third year running, Trent & Dove Housing has bucked the trend by exceeding its targets for building new homes.
Over the three years between 2007-2010, the company had set itself a target for developing or acquiring 173 new properties but has in fact smashed this and developed 259 new affordable homes, almost 50% above its target.
These include the refurbishment of 26 existing properties in the inner-Burton area, through the Inner Burton Housing Initiative (IBHI). Working with East Staffordshire Borough Council and the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA), Trent & Dove has restored previously run-down houses up to a high standard, providing much needed affordable rented homes and improving the appearance of the area.
Trent & Dove’s chief executive, Ron Dougan said, ‘We are delighted to have yet again exceeded our target for building new homes and would like to thank the local Council and the Homes and Communities Agency for helping us to make this happen.’
Director of property services, Steve Grocock added, ‘All of our new homes are built to the latest eco-sustainability standards and feedback from tenants has been excellent. This year we are again aiming to exceed our new homes target by continuing to build affordable, desirable new homes, or acquire existing properties within the IBHI, to meet local housing need.’
