Housing for Older Residents

Sheltered housing allows people to live independently with the reassurance that emergency assistance is at hand day or night. Schemes vary in terms of the type and size of accomodation and communal facilities. Some are bungalows, others self contained apartments within a complex, each with the privacy of the resident’s own front door, most with secure door entry systems.

Residents like any other, are responsible for their own rent and council tax.

Trent & Dove Housing offer three schemes located in Burton upon Trent and two in Uttoxeter with Scheme Managers living on site. All have a communal lounge area, laundry, pay phone and alarm system.

There are a further three locations in Tutbury, Barton under Needwood and Uttoxeter that offer mainly bungalows or flats. These developments offer individual homes without communal facilities but have access to a Scheme Manager.

Each of the schemes have received accreditation by the National Centre for Sheltered Housing under the terms of their code of practice.

Sheltered bungalows at Barton under Needwood

Sheltered bungalows at Barton under Needwood, are an example of where we can offer residents an independent lifestyle with the re-asssurance of having our "FirstCall TwentyFour seven" service.

Our Sheltered scheme at St. John’s Court in Horninglow, is within easy reach of the town centre.
