Additional Care for the Vulnerable

In addition to providing support through our sheltered schemes and FirstCall TwentyFour-seven, we are aware that there are times when people may require some short term additional assistance to get them back on their feet, or they have needs which require some specialist help to ensure that they can maintain their independence.

Woman writing at a deskAt Trent & Dove Housing, working in partnership with other specialist organisations, we have made it possible for the more vulnerable to sustain their tenancies.

By making provision for re-enablement facilities and additional support at some of our properties and by working in conjunction with Health, Social Services and Age Concern, we have helped many people to resume a relatively independent lifestyle.

Presently we are working in partnership with the Carr-Gomm Society who provide support for those people whose tenancies may be at risk if help were not available.

We are also working in conjunction with Step Forward Housing in assisting people who have mental health problems and Stonham Housing to support young mothers with their housing needs and problems.

Through this specialist support, our more vulnerable residents have been helped to overcome their own personal challenges in their lives.

For more information please contact Care Service's Support and Disabilities Manager on (01283) 528528.

Floating Support Service for Older People

A new service has been introduced to provide floating support for people aged 55 and over who require support to enable them to live independently in the community.

The service can be accessed by people who perhaps are single; or living as part of a couple; or an older person who is part of a family group.

You could be able to use this service if you:

  • Are aged 55 or over.
  • Live in East Staffordshire.
  • Have been assessed as having low level support needs.
  • Are willing to accept and understand the support being provided.
  • Agree to having a support plan created which will identify your needs and aspirations.

You can find out more about the service by contacting the Senior Floating Support Worker, telephone 01283 528669. Alternatively e-mail us on enquiries@trentanddove.org and mark the message for the attention of the Senior Floating Support Worker.

Further information is available in our leaflet which can be downloaded from the leaflets section of this website.
