Trent & Dove Host 2nd Charity Golf Day

Corporate News, News

Trent & Dove Housing were thrilled to host their second Charity Golf Day on Thursday 4th July, which brought together local businesses, colleagues and partners from eight organisations. The event was held to raise money for their 14th annual Impact on the Community Awards which will take place on Friday 8th November.

The golfers arrived at Burton Golf Club to glorious sunshine and were greeted with bacon rolls and plenty of caffeine to set them up for 18 holes of golf. The day was opened by Russell Davis, Company Solicitor at Trent & Dove and part of the Burton Golf Club A-Team. He welcomed all of the contractors and partners that supported the day.

Partners on the day included; CWH Surveyors, Engie Ltd, Taylor French, Edmundson Electrical, J.Tomlinson, Hardy Signs, Worcester Bosch and OnSite.

Following some great play in the blazing heat, Mark Whitaker from Taylor French won nearest to the pin on the 6th hole and Adam Barclay won the longest drive on the 13th hole.

The game was scored by the Stableford points system, where the top two scores were taken from each team and calculated as their overall score. The winners on the day were the Edmundson Electrical team alongside their team captain from Trent & Dove, Nick Sutton (Operations Manager). The team scored a fantastic 80 points and were closely followed in 2nd place by team Taylor French, who scored 79 points. The winning team each received a £50 golf club gift voucher, kindly donated by Orchard Systems. The team that came in last place were Hardy Signs, who each received a pair of “jazzy” golf socks as their booby prize.

A great day was had by all and a total of £900.00 was raised towards their Impact on the Community Awards which recognises all of the vital work carried out by individual people, organisations and local businesses and shines a spotlight on the projects which are “Transforming Homes, Lives and Neighbourhoods” across East Staffordshire, South Derbyshire and North West Leicestershire.
