We are committed to tenant involvement.

It's as simple as that. We really do value your views on our services and about any changes that might affect you and the communities that you live in.

And it's a commitment that starts right at the top as our Board and governance structures reflect our dedication to co-regulation. Of our 12 Non Executive Directors, 5 are Trent & Dove tenants. We believe this continues to keep the customer at the heart of everything we do.

Have a say

We know not everyone can be a Non Executive Director but there are so many ways you can have a say in how your community is run such as:

Join a scrutiny group

Scrutiny Groups

Join one of our scrutiny groups where you will have an opportunity to debate our policies, look at how well we deliver our services and consider the moans and groans we receive.

You can also make comment on how well, or otherwise, we have handled formal complaints.

Members of the of Policy and Scrutiny, Performance and Standards or Complaints Groups have the chance to put a stamp on to the services we deliver and the decisions we make.

We value the opinions of our Scrutiny Groups, and hold regular member meetings at our head office site, Trinity Square. You can contact the scrutiny group by emailing

Some of the impact made by these groups so far includes:

  • Production of new tenant friendly Lettable Standard and Mutual Exchange Leaflets
  • Review of Customer Service with monthly telephone answering statistics being closely monitored
  • Creation and design of the Star Survey sent to a range of customers this year and looking at the responses to this so that we can improve service as necessary
  • Various policies reviewed to ensure they are fit for purpose and will bring benefits to tenants
  • Input to the new web site
  • Close monitoring of monthly expressions of dissatisfaction and closed formal complaints to bring about service improvements and learn lessons
  • Production of the Annual Report to Tenants

Residents Association Meetings

You may want to go along to one of our Resident Association meetings.

These are open to everyone who lives in the community, not just our own tenants, and are a focal point for people to raise community issues that matter to them.

Each Association has a budget to spend on small local projects and has access to a larger community fund held by the residents Federation.


We're committed to 'Transforming Homes, Lives and Neighbourhoods' across East Staffordshire and South Derbyshire - and lots of our customers are too.

Here are just a few amazing community-led projects we are involved with.  

The Kingfisher Project

The Kingfisher Project had a busy year in 2013 with school pupils helping out with the community garden and clearance of the embankment along with fun days for the whole community. A similar calendar of activities is planned for 2014 as well as the creation of a large community garden at Beresford Close.

Coffeecom 001 Wishes For Winshill

Wishes for Winshill

Wishes for Winshill held its usual mix of fun events and trip to the coast. Their community café, Coffeecom, is open to the whole community on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursday from 9.00am to 12 noon. Free wifi access and the use of a computer offer all customers an opportunity to get on line.

Warwick St Community Allotment

With the help of funding and support from employees of Interserve as well as local volunteers this community allotment scheme is now up and running. Featuring raised beds, a shed and greenhouse, the scheme provides space for tenants to grow their own fruit and vegetables. Some of the plots are also being cultivated by volunteers and the produce will be used to provide low cost vegetable bags for sale in the community or for donation to local food banks.

Estate Walkabouts

Team up with your local housing officer and take to 'the beat' to see what is being done in your area and to point out any areas of concern that you may have.
