We have an exciting opportunity to join our Health and Safety Team. If successful, your role as an SHE Technician Apprentice will be to support the team to deliver advice and support across the organisation to ensure legal compliance and operational best practice.The successful applicant will be required to work 37 hours per week and will receive a weekly wage of £209.05. Our working week is Mon-Fri, and we offer flexible hours from 8am-6pm.

The duties will include:

  • Communicate effectively and contribute effectively in both spoken and written word adapting to the audience to present information or training in an assertive, engaging way
  • Work with others (colleagues, suppliers, contractors and customers) and lead by example in a collaborative and non- confrontational way
  • Be able to adjust to change in relation to the requirements of the organisation
  • Contribute to a positive SHE culture
  • Positively influence behaviour in others to achieve desired outcomes and resolve conflicts
  • Be able to identify areas for improvement and suggest sustainable innovative solutions
  • Be able to work within own level of competence and know when to seek advice from others
  • Work within rules and regulations of professional competence and code of conduct as defined by a professional institution (IOSH)
  • Be able to resist pressures to allow others to utilise unsafe working practices
  • Be prepared to take additional responsibility where necessary, to support the department and organisation in achieving its operational objectives

Desired qualifications

  • Level 2 in maths and English
  • Appreciation/understanding of the housing and/or construction industries
  • Workplace experience desirable but not essential
  • Driving license essential (due to nature of the role)
