We also have homes in South Derbyshire, Lichfield District Council and North West Leicestershire. If you would like a home in either of these areas, please register directly with the dedicated local authority. They will then pass on your details onto us. Should you successfully match with a home in this area, you will be nominated to us by the Local Authority.

The register allows us to allocate homes in order of need. This is done by giving each applicant a banding number using the information provided on your application. For definitions on banding categories, please see the ESBC Housing Allocations Policy.

After you apply

Once you have submitted your application, our team will review and verify your registration. We may contact you to discuss your application or to ask for more information.

You will receive an email letting you know:
•    Whether your registration has been accepted
•    Which band you have been placed in
•    Your bedroom entitlement
•    Your bidding number

In some cases, we may need extra evidence to assess your housing needs. Until we’ve completed that assessment, we may delay issuing your bidding number, band or bedroom entitlement.

How to bid on homes

New homes are added to our Find a Home webpage every Tuesday. If you would like to apply for a home listed, click ‘I’m Interested’ and enter your bidding number when prompted.

If you are matched as the highest priority for the property, our lettings team will get in touch with you via email or phone call within 14 days.

If you do not hear from us, you have not been allocated a property on this occasion.

It is important to note that we have incredibly high demand for our homes, which unfortunately means that many people with lower priority may not be able to secure a home with us.

If you already live in a social housing home, you can use HomeSwapper to swap with another social housing customer. It’s usually a much quicker way to move.

If you are successful in securing a property, our lettings team will walk you through our tenancy agreement which outlines the roles and responsibilities of Trent & Dove as your landlord, and you as our tenant. A simplified version of a Tenancy Agreement can be found here.

I don’t have access to the internet to apply

We have tablets available in our office reception in Burton. These can be used both to make your online application and to bid on properties.

I need the registration form in another language.

Please call us on 01283 528 528 or email hello@trentanddove.org.

I am not happy with my banding

Your housing band has been decided based on the East Staffordshire Housing Allocations Policy.
In most cases, your band is automatically assigned using the information you gave during your online registration.

If you disagree with your banding, you can ask for a review. To do this, contact Customer Services by calling 01283 528 528 or hello@trentanddove.org.

You must request a review within 21 days of receiving your banding decision.

My circumstances have changed since I applied to the housing register.
