Former garage site to become £3m affordable homes development
A former garage site in Burton upon Trent will be transformed into a £3 million development, creating 14 much-needed, high-quality, affordable homes for local people.
As a social housing provider, we continue to bridge the affordable housing gap thanks to the new scheme supported by Government funding.
Grant funding from Homes England will support the delivery of affordable homes at the site.

The development marks a new partnership between Trent & Dove and Langcroft
The project involves demolishing a derelict private house and former garage site to access unused brownfield land and build 10 social rent and four shared ownership homes off Harbury Street, Horninglow.

“This development is a great example of how underused brownfield land can be transformed into high-quality, affordable homes that make a real difference to local people.
“With demand for affordable housing continuing to rise, projects like this are vital in helping individuals and families put down roots in the communities they already call home.
“We’re grateful for the support from Homes England and we’re delighted to be working with Langcroft Developments on this project as we continue to deliver on our ambition to build more much-needed homes across the region.”

Work has now started on the scheme and is due to complete in November
This project is contributing to our target of building 700 new homes between 2022 and 2027 and supporting the Government's 1.5 million new homes target.
It comes as figures published by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) reveals there was a net loss of 3,834 homes for social rent.
The development marks a new partnership between Trent & Dove and property developers Langcroft Developments.
Danny Lang, Director of Langcroft said:
