BAC O’Connor sponsors Special Recognition Award

BAC

BAC O’Connor is honoured to be a sponsor of the Special Recognition Award at the 2026 Trent & Dove Community Impact Awards, a category that celebrates the extraordinary individuals and organisations whose dedication inspires and strengthens our community.

This much-loved event provides a powerful platform to recognise the unsung heroes who quietly change lives. Whether it is an outstanding volunteer giving their time selflessly or a project working to protect the planet and uplift neighbourhoods, the awards shine a light on the passion, resilience and commitment that too often go unseen.

The Special Recognition Award is a celebration of lasting impact, of people whose compassion, perseverance and leadership leave a legacy that continues long after the moment has passed.

Transforming Lives Across Our Community

BAC O’Connor has worked alongside Trent & Dove for over 20 years, united by a shared belief that strong communities are built on opportunity, stability and hope.

Based in Burton upon Trent, BAC O’Connor has been supporting people into abstinent recovery since 1998. Our nationally recognised, evidence-based programme is delivered by a highly qualified and experienced multi-disciplinary team, achieving some of the highest long-term recovery rates in the country.

But beyond the statistics are the stories, individuals rebuilding relationships, parents reunited with children, people moving from homelessness into safe housing, and individuals rediscovering purpose and confidence.

Over the years, BAC O’Connor has developed a broad and impactful range of services across Staffordshire, supporting people with substance dependency, including detox provision, residential rehabilitation, recovery housing and community services. These services support people affected by substance use, mental health challenges and homelessness, offering not just treatment, but the chance to build a new future. A vital part of this journey has been the long-standing partnership with Trent & Dove.

For more than two decades, they have worked closely with BAC O’Connor to help people in recovery rebuild their lives, supporting clients to access safe, comfortable homes and providing opportunities for employment and volunteering.

Where many housing providers were reluctant to work with individuals affected by substance dependency, Trent & Dove demonstrated a willingness to engage with our client group and recognise the importance of stable housing in long-term recovery. That commitment has helped countless individuals take the next step forward, providing the security and opportunity needed to rebuild confidence, independence and hope for the future.

Celebrating those who make a difference

Every day, we see the power of determination, kindness and community. We see the ripple effect that one committed individual or one visionary organisation can have on the lives of many.  That is why sponsoring the Special Recognition Award is so meaningful to us. It reflects everything we believe in, that real change happens when people step forward, stand beside others, and refuse to give up on the possibility of something better.

BAC O’Connor is proud to celebrate those whose contributions strengthen our communities and inspire hope and we also extend our thanks to Trent & Dove for their long standing partnership and their commitment to supporting people in recovery to rebuild their lives within safe and stable communities.

We look forward to recognising the finalists and winner of this special award at what promises to be a truly uplifting and memorable evening.
