Stramshall residents are invited to an event to view and respond to plans by Trent & Dove to build ten new homes for local people in the village ahead of the local housing provider submitting a planning application.

Trent & Dove is preparing a planning application for what is known as a rural exception site to build the homes on a small parcel of open paddock land close to existing residential housing on Hollington Lane. The proposal is for ten semi-detached homes consisting of six two-storey, two-bedroom houses and four, two-bedroom bungalows, all provided as social rent and shared ownership for local people.

Charlie Riley, Development Director at Trent & Dove, said:

The development is supported by a Local Housing Needs Assessment for Uttoxeter Rural Parish, which covers the villages of Stramshall, Spath and Crakemarsh, and highlighted a demand for this type of housing. We’re also seeing an increase from new applicants applying to join the register that are currently living in the parish or have a specific need.

Only applicants with a direct connection to the parish will be considered as a priority. Local residents are welcome and encouraged to attend the drop-in session where we’ll share the draft plans, and they’ll have an opportunity to speak to our team members, Helen and Tony, who will listen to their feedback and answer any questions.

The drop-in session will take place at Stramshall Village Hall on Tuesday 31 October, between 2.30pm and 6.30pm.

Residents will have a further opportunity to view and respond to the plans once the planning application is submitted to East Staffordshire District Council in the near future.
