National report highlights our homelessness prevention
Three inspiring stories highlighting the support our customers receive to prevent and end homelessness have been featured in a new national report.
The latest Homes for Cathy case study report showcases how housing associations across the country are working together to prevent and end homelessness.
As a Homes for Cathy member, we submitted examples showing how we are preventing homelessness, helping people access and keep homes, and working with partners to improve local responses.
Our inclusion is designed to inspire others to work to end homelessness, highlighting the practical, person-centred support our teams provide.

We shape our services to provide the best possible support for our customers
Our case studies included:
- A customer at significant risk due to rent arrears, debt, non-engagement, visual impairment, inability to read correspondence and memory difficulties. Our support included building trust, adapting appointments, written reminders, income assessment, Housing Benefit support, Citizens Advice referral, mobile phone support and engagement with court proceedings.
- A customer whose tenancy was at risk due to deteriorating mental health following a traumatic bereavement while homeless. Our colleagues maintained regular contact, built trust and helped him access appropriate medication and mental health support.
- A new customer moved into a general needs tenancy after homelessness and support from the Salvation Army. Our colleagues helped secure charitable funding for carpets, a bed, washing machine, microwave, kettle, sofa, wardrobe, curtains, bin and coffee table.
These stories reflect something we see every day: preventing homelessness is about more than providing a home. It's about building relationships, removing barriers and offering the right support at the right time.
Thank you to Homes for Cathy for highlighting the impact housing associations can make when we work together to tackle homelessness and support people to thrive.
