Online housing registration form

If you're looking to move into a Trent & Dove home (or one of our partners' homes) you'll need to complete an online registration form to join the East Staffordshire Housing Register.

The online registration form is easily accessible and can be completed using a computer, mobile phone or tablet. For those applicants who can't complete the online registration form themselves and without access to support to help them do so, a Housing Needs Officer will be able to complete the online registration form with the applicant over the phone. However, we must stress this is for exceptional circumstances only where all other alternative methods are not available and will be on an appointment basis.

An automated banding system forms part of the process for some applicants. Dependent on the information provided on the registration form regarding their housing need and current circumstances, the system will assess their housing need according to the East Staffordshire housing allocations policy. Where an applicant’s housing need is more complex a Housing Needs Officer will ensure your registration form is processed and all the relevant information is collected.

The online system will make it easier for applicants to access the housing register and ultimately find a sustainable tenancy.

Frequently asked questions

What if I don't have access to the internet?

In exceptional circumstances, a Housing Needs Officer will be able to complete the online registration form with the applicant over the phone. However, we must stress that this will only be for exceptional circumstances where all other alternative methods are not available and will be on an appointment basis.

What if I require the registration form in another language?

If you require the registration form in another language, please call 01283 528528 or email us. We will then refer you to Language Line, who will be able to help you complete the online registration process.

Do I need to send any supporting documents to you?

For any supporting documentation required a member of the Housing Needs Team will contact you to arrange this.

What if I am not happy with the banding I have been awarded?

The band you have been awarded has been assessed according to the East Staffordshire housing allocations policy. In most cases, your banding will have been awarded automatically based on the information you provided during the online registration process. 

If you disagree with the banding decision you may request a review by sending an email to the Lettings Manager. You can do this:

  • Using the details provided on your banding confirmation email
  • Or call 01283 528528 or email us.

Within 21 days from the date, you were notified of the decision. 

How long do I have to wait if I have sent any supporting information?

Since the launch of our online registration form, we have seen a significant increase in people joining our housing register. This demand has been greater than expected, with a large number of applications now being completed over the weekends. This demonstrates that the new system is more accessible and easier to use. 

Some applicants will be asked to provide us with additional information before a decision can be made. Our team is busy working through these registration forms to ensure a priority banding is allocated that best suits their housing needs. We'll be contacting these people as soon as possible.
