Our Board
Meet the Board
Trent & Dove is run by a Board of Management made up of 10 members, including Trent & Dove customers. The board drives our strategy ensuring we make the best business decisions.
The regulator monitors how well we do this; you’ll find our latest reports here Trent & Dove Housing Limited - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
Trent & Dove also has an Executive Team who are responsible for the day-to-day running of the organisation.
Why did you want to be a part of Trent & Dove?
Trent & Dove’s approach is transforming homes, lives, and communities. And to me, that's what it's about. It's about being embedded in the communities that you serve.
For other housing associations, it can be about a business growing for the sake of growing and not necessarily serving the people it's supposed to.
Tell us about your work on the Audit Risk and Assurance Committee.
The Board oversees everything, but this Committee focuses on ensuring that different parts of the businesses have internal audits. We check and challenge those results. There is a strong approach to risk management at Trent & Dove.
What have been your proudest moments on the Board?
The Impact on the Community Awards celebrated the great things that are happening in communities. It was an inspiring night. I also really enjoyed the tour of our developments and services which allows you to see things that you only hear about on pieces of paper.
Why is Trent & Dove so important to you?
Trent & Dove are more than bricks and mortar. They don't just worry about putting a roof over somebody's head; they're about trying to keep them there.
How does the board ensure that Trent & Dove is embracing ED&I?
It is discussed at every Board meeting, and we ask how we have considered the ED&I implications.
You have to be conscious of it. When we receive reports to the Board, they will have an ED&I element.
It is so easy to say: ‘This is what we're doing’. But we have to ask the questions. We have to reflect our community.
Do you have a favourite quote or philosophy that inspires you?
‘We 've got two ears and one mouth, and we probably ought to use them in that ratio’. Listening first to the needs of the community is so important. It’s easy if you respond quickly, but listening is such an important skill.
