Who in your community makes a positive contribution to help others and improve your area? What local project or charity goes above and beyond to transform the lives of others?

If you know of a local unsung hero or community project that deserves recognition enter them for an Impact on the Community Award while there’s still time! The deadline has now been extended to midnight on Friday 15 December. Enter online now.

In partnership with Burton Albion Community Trust, we launched our 18th Impact on the Community Awards early in November. Since then, we’ve received nearly 50 entries across the nine award categories, which include everything from overall community impact through to projects for young and older people, environmental, fundraising and volunteering initiatives.

We’re particularly keen to hear about environmental, volunteering and fundraising projects that have made an impact over the past 12 months, as well as new initiatives led by young people, individuals and organisations with a proven track record for making a positive difference.

Earlier we announced that the awards will be hosted by the actor, comedian and impressionist, Jon Culshaw, who is regarded by many as the most versatile impressionist in the UK with a catalogue of over 350 characters and numerous tv and radio credits.

The glittering ceremony will be held at the Pirelli Stadium in Burton on Trent on Thursday 18 April.

Nominations are open to individuals and organisations from across East Staffordshire and South Derbyshire.
